Risa Elkind Nye, Author of Road Scholar

Risa Elkind Nye lives in Oakland, California. She has a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley; an M.S. in Clinical Counseling from California State University, East Bay; and a Certificate in College Admissions Advising from University of California, Berkeley Extension. She is the Associate Director of College Counseling at an independent East Bay high school.

A published writer, Ms. Nye's essays and articles have appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle and a variety of other publications. Her chapter on writing college essays appears in the wonderful "Don't Forget to Write," published last year by 826 Valencia in San Francisco. She enjoys working with students and helping them decide among their options for life after high school. Ms. Nye hopes that all college-bound students will make better informed decisions after using her book.
